Studio Switcher: hop between Writing / Script / Beta Reader

Last updated June 10, 2026 · 4 min read

Switching Studios in Slima is one click — click the top-left Slima logo to open a 3-Studio popup.

Click the top-left Slima logo to open the Studio Switcher popup: Writing Studio (current ✓) / Script Studio / AI Beta Reader, each with a one-line description

How to open the Studio Switcher

Click the Slima logo at the top of the left activity bar (the star icon) → popup opens.

Three Studios

Studio Purpose (as shown in popup)
Writing Studio Create and edit your works
Script Studio Screenplay writing with AI mentor
AI Beta Reader AI-powered reading feedback and suggestions

The current Studio shows a ✓ check.

What happens on switch

  • Instant — no sign-out / sign-in
  • Books stay in their Studio — Writing Studio books don't end up in Script Studio and vice versa
  • Unsaved content auto-commits — Slima saves before switching
  • Version history preserved — still on the original book

Can I keep two Studios open at once?

Yes — open a new browser tab:

  • Tab 1: /writing_studio/books/... — novel
  • Tab 2: /script_studio/books/... — adaptation

Both tabs sync live, no conflicts.

Can I see all three Studios?

Yes — all three Studios are open to every account; none is hidden behind a plan. Anyone can enter Writing, Script, or AI Beta Reader.

The thing to keep straight: the Studio itself is free; the AI inside it depends on your plan. Running an AI read, using the AI Coach, or AI analysis draws on your plan's AI allowance. So if a Studio looks "locked," it isn't — you can open it; you just need an allowance or the right plan to use its AI.

How to tell which Studio you're in

  • The left activity bar shows the icons for that Studio's features (Writing Studio: 💧 Back to Works at the top, plus folder / AI chat / outline / comments / notes / linked-elements / beta-reader icons; Script Studio uses a different icon set)
  • The URL also tells you: /writing_studio/... vs /script_studio/... vs /beta_readers/...
