Inline comments

Last updated June 10, 2026 · 2 min read

Want to leave notes on a specific passage as you write? Comments are inline annotations you (and collaborators with editing access) add right inside the Slima editor.

The Comments panel on the right of the Slima editor: filter by status, show current file only; select text and right-click to add a comment

Add a comment

In the Slima editor:

  1. Select the text you want to annotate
  2. Right-click → Add Comment
  3. Write your note → confirm
  4. The comment is anchored to that text range and appears in the Comments panel

Comments are not plan-gated and they are not part of a share link — they live in the editor.

The Comments panel

Open the Comments panel from the activity bar (the comment icon on the right). It lists every comment in the book. Two filters:

  • Status dropdown: All / Open / Resolved / Rejected (defaults to Open)
  • Current file only toggle: limit the list to the file you're viewing

Comment states

Each comment is a flat annotation on a text range (no threads or replies). It moves through three states:

  • Open — active, awaiting review
  • Resolved — you accepted or addressed the note
  • Rejected — you dismissed it

Resolve or reject a comment from its inline card.
