Writing Studio

Font size / column width / typography preferences

3 min read

Long-form writers are sensitive to font size and column width β€” you're staring at this for 8 hours; the defaults may not be right. Slima's editor lets you adjust.

Slima Writing Studio editor (single-pane reference; typography preferences are usually in the bottom-left font icon or under Account β†’ Preferences)

How to open typography preferences

Two common paths:

  1. Bottom-left πŸ…° font icon (FontScaleControl) β€” hover for tooltip confirmation
  2. Account β†’ Preferences β†’ Display (i18n confirms this exists; contains a "Font size" slider)

Exact entry varies by Slima version.

Main adjustable items

1 Β· Font size

Adjust via Account β†’ Preferences β†’ Display β†’ "Font size" slider. The i18n confirms this exists and affects all text site-wide (including AI-generated content).

For long-form, larger than default (e.g. 110–130%) tends to be easier on the eyes.

2 Β· Line height / column width / font family

These may be available depending on version:

  • Line height
  • Content max-width (narrower column, closer to a book)
  • Font family (serif / sans / monospace)

Check your current Preferences page for the exact options.

3 Β· Dark / light theme

Bottom of the activity bar πŸŒ— icon toggles theme. i18n confirms this toggle.

Scope of settings

Some preferences can be set per device vs account (cloud-synced). Synced settings stay consistent across devices.

Reset

The Preferences page typically has a "Reset to default" button (or clear browser cache).
