Observed elements:

  • Bottom-left: today's total words + ⚙️
  • Right of format toolbar: current chapter word count
  • Next to book title: connection status indicator (display-only, not clickable) — 🟢 connected / ⚪ offline / ⚪ local mode (signed out)

Customisation

The Activity Bar icon layout and the status bar are fixed; you can't hide, reorder, or toggle them off. Account → Preferences only offers a font-size control (slider + reset) and the Tutorial Center — there are no status-bar visibility toggles.
