Writing Studio

Mobile gestures

2 min read

Mobile uses gestures instead of keyboard — every common action has a gesture.

Slima Writing Studio editor as a visual reference: left file tree / centre editor with format toolbar / right Notes panel

Six core gestures

1 · Horizontal swipe between panels

Editor edges:

  • From left edge → right: open Files sheet
  • From right edge → left: open AI Coach sheet

See: Mobile immersive mode

2 · Long-press to select

Long-press text → selects the word + opens selection menu.

3 · Double-tap

On text → selects the word (short form of long-press)

On the book title (top) → opens immersive mode

4 · Pinch to zoom

Pinch in/out → font scale up / down (remembered per device)

5 · Pull to refresh

On shelf / chat history → pull down to refresh + sync check

6 · Three-finger swipe

Right → Undo
Left → Redo

Gestures vs keyboard

Mobile has no keyboard — gestures replace it. But a Bluetooth keyboard works too:

  • iPad + Bluetooth → most desktop shortcuts work
  • Android same

Disable gestures

Misfiring? Account → Preferences → Mobile gestures → toggle individually.
