Full-script search

Last updated May 22, 2026 · 2 min read

Full-script search is the 🔍 icon in the top toolbar of the Scenes / Write views — open it to search dialogue, scene description, and character names.

Slima Script Studio Write view top 🔍 search; bottom status shows word count / scene count / duration / today added / saved

Where it is

Full-text search in Script Studio is not a separate view on the Page Switcher — it's the 🔍 icon in the top toolbar of the Scenes (Scene Board) and Write (script editor) views. Click it to bring up the search box.

What you can search

  • Dialogue text: find a specific line
  • Scene description: find an action beat
  • Character name: find every appearance of a character

Search scope

You can usually switch the scope — current scene / current Episode / current Season / whole Series. The exact scope options and advanced toggles (case sensitivity, whole word, regex) may vary between Slima versions; go by what the search panel actually shows.

Reading the script's numbers

A script's structural numbers are spread across the views rather than collected on one "stats" page:

  • The Scenes view shows the scene count at the top (e.g. "3 scenes")
  • The Write view shows word count / scene count / estimated duration at the bottom
  • Cross-episode character appearances are on the Appearance matrix
