Edit / archive / delete script book + restore from Trash

Last updated May 29, 2026 · 5 min read

Script-book lifecycle (edit metadata / mark complete / archive / delete) — same mechanics as Writing Studio's book lifecycle, with slightly different wording.

Slima Script Studio "My Screenplays" page — the script-book shelf where each card's lifecycle actions (edit / copy / complete / trash) live

Card ⋯ menu actions

Hover a script card → top-right ⋯ menu contains exactly three actions:

Option Use
Export Backup Download a .slima backup of the whole script book
Archive Move the book to the "Completed" tab
Delete Soft-delete → moves the book to the "Trash" tab

To edit metadata (title / format / type), open the book and click the title in the breadcrumb — there is no Edit option on the card menu, and no per-card Copy action.

Edit metadata

Open the book and click the title in the breadcrumb to open the quick-settings dialog — editable:

  • Title
  • Format (Hollywood / Taiwan TV/Film — toggling re-renders dialogue layout instantly)
  • Type (Film / TV series / Short / Micro-drama — changing type doesn't auto-reorganise Season / Episode)

Note: changing type / format doesn't lose content. Dialogue, description, structural metadata all preserved.

Archive (Completed tab)

The only way to mark a script book as finished is Archive. It moves the whole book to the Completed tab:

Active (Works tab) Archived (Completed tab)
Where it shows "Works" tab "Completed" tab
AI Coach can read? ✅ (still readable)
Counts toward today's words? ❌ (archived doesn't count)

There is no separate "mark as complete" badge that keeps a book in the Works tab — Archive is the single completion path.

Move to Trash + Restore

Same mechanism as Writing Studio:

  • Delete soft-deletes the book and moves it to the Trash tab; the delete dialog notes the book can be restored within 30 days (Writing Studio book lifecycle)
  • Restore it any time from the Trash tab before it is auto-removed
  • Slima auto-versions before soft-delete

Permanent delete (manual)

In the Trash tab, each card has two direct buttons: Restore and Delete permanently (no ⋯ menu). "Delete permanently" opens a single danger-style confirmation dialog.

Not recoverable — export a .slima backup before confirming (Import + bulk export).

Vs Writing Studio book lifecycle

See: Writing Studio book lifecycle — same mechanics; only "Completed" vs "Archive" wording differs.
