5 starting options

Top row (new / restore)

  1. Blank Project (default selected) — start from scratch
  2. Restore Backup — import a .slima backup file

Bottom row (import existing script)

  1. Taiwan TV/Film (.docx / .pdf / .txt)
  2. Hollywood (.docx / .pdf / .txt)
  3. Fountain (.fountain)

See import flow: Import script to new book

Blank Project — step-by-step

Pick "Blank Project" → step 2 shows "New Screenplay" form:

Field Required Default
Script Name Placeholder "My First Screenplay"
Format Hollywood (default) / Taiwan TV/Film — default is locale-based (English UI → Hollywood)
Type Film / TV Series / Short Film / Micro Drama

Confirm → "Create Screenplay" button.

4 Types map to subsequent UI differences

Whatever type you pick, the new book starts with exactly 1 season + 1 episode. The type mainly changes the default act layout and the default target duration of that first episode:

Type What the type sets up by default
Film Default 3-act layout (Setup / Confrontation / Resolution), ~45-min target duration
TV Series Same default 3-act layout + duration as Film
Short Film Same default 3-act layout + duration as Film
Micro Drama Collapses to a single "全劇" (whole-show) act + a short ~5-min target duration

The season / episode toggle in the Scenes view is not decided by the type — it shows up once you actually add a second season or episode (4-level hierarchy details).

Restore Backup — equivalent to Writing Studio

Same mechanism as Writing Studio's restore from backup — imports .slima into a new Series. Preserves full version history.

After creation

You land in the new script's Plan view — start filling Logline / Concept / Synopsis metadata, or jump to Scenes view to pick a structure template and start writing.

First-entry Tour prompt

After creating, your first visit usually shows a "New here?" floating tour (e.g. "Planning: think clearly — start by writing a one-line story and seasonal structure"). Walk through / Skip / Later options.
