Locations list: CRUD + integration with Scene Heading

Lectura de 4 min

Plan view's 4th tab is Locations. Create, edit, delete locations — and link from scenes.

Slima Script Studio Plan view: 6 top tabs; the 4th is "Locations"

Why locations matter

A script's location list = the production crew's prep reference. Scripts mark "INT / EXT + location + time" — locations need to be consistent:

  • The same location across multiple scenes should have one canonical name (not "Lighthouse cottage" in E1 then "Lighthouse keeper's cottage" in E3)
  • The crew needs to know what locations exist for set building / scouting

Slima centralises this in a Locations list; Scene Heading picks from here.

Creating a location

Locations tab → "+ Add Location" → dialog:

Field Use
Name "Lighthouse Cottage", "Harbour Pub", "Seaside Rocks", etc.
INT / EXT Indoor / outdoor / mixed
Description (optional) What this location looks like
Photo / scout shot (optional) Production reference
Which layer Work-wide / Season-limited / Episode-limited

Confirm → location appears in the list and is selectable in Scene Heading dropdown.

Canonical mock locations (The Last Night Train)

Per docs-mock-content.md:

  • Lighthouse Cottage (INT) — main interior set
  • Harbour Pub (INT) — character interaction venue
  • Seaside Rocks (EXT) — symbolic outdoor location

Editing a location

Click any location → detail panel:

  • Rename (all linked scene headings update automatically, like a wikilink)
  • Change INT/EXT
  • Add description, photos
  • Change layer

Deleting

⋯ menu → Delete. Confirmation: "This location is linked to N scenes. Scenes keep their heading text but lose the location reference (string instead of reference)."

Auto-version before delete.
