Command palette (Cmd/Ctrl K): universal search & jump

Lectura de 3 min

The command palette (Cmd/Ctrl K) is Slima's universal search — find features, jump to scenes, execute actions, ask AI Coach, open settings — all in one place.

Slima Script Studio Plan view as a visual reference; the command palette is available in every view

Opening

Any view → press Cmd K (Mac) / Ctrl K (Win/Linux) — a centred search box appears.

Four search targets

The palette searches:

1. Features / actions

Type "split" → lists split-scene, split-view, etc.
Type "format" → lists format toggle, format settings, etc.

2. Cross-view jumps

Type "Episode 3" → jumps to E03.
Type part of a scene heading → jumps to that scene in Write view.
Type a character name → jumps to that character's Bible entry.

3. Settings

Type "preferences" → goes to Account settings.
Type "theme" → toggles light / dark.

4. AI Coach

Type "ask AI" → opens a new AI conversation.

Fuzzy matching

The palette fuzzy-matches — no need to type the full name:

  • "plgr" might match "Plan view group reorder"
  • CJK / Latin mixed input works

Keyboard nav

  • / cycle results
  • Enter execute
  • Esc close

Vs Quick Open

Use Tool
Jump to a file (Writing Studio chapter) Quick Open (Cmd P)
Jump to a scene / execute any action Command palette (Cmd K)

Writing Studio has both; Script Studio mainly uses the command palette (no "file" concept — scenes / episodes).

Hide / customise

The command palette can't be fully disabled (it's core UI), but Account → Preferences usually lets you change the trigger key.
