Format settings + Dual Preview

قراءة 4 دقيقة

Switched format and want a side-by-side comparison? Need to fine-tune page margins / font size? Format settings + dual preview handle it.

Slima Script Studio Plan view as a visual reference; format settings / dual preview are usually in Write view or export settings

Format settings

Usually accessed from Write view top / toolbar → Format Settings dialog. Adjustable:

Setting Default Use
Format TW / Hollywood Main format switch (see)
Page size A4 / Letter Affects words per page
Page margins Default Top / bottom / left / right
Font size 12pt or default Affects words per page
Font family Monospaced Script typically uses Courier / Courier New / Monaco
Line height 1.5 / 1.0 Affects words per page
Page number position Top-right / centre / hidden
Page-break rule New page per scene / continuous Affects export page breaks

Every setting reflects live into the preview.

Dual Preview

Some versions support side-by-side Source (what you wrote) + Preview (rendered):

┌─ Source ──────────┬─ Preview ──────────┐

Useful for:

  • Confirming elements are correctly classified (Scene Heading / Character / Dialogue)
  • Seeing the effect of TW ↔ Hollywood switching
  • Fine-tuning layout

Relationship with export

Deliver view's export settings inherit these format settings — what you tune here is used at export.

Export adds extra options (cover page, table of contents, versioning) — see Deliver formats and scope.
