AI quota exhausted

Your weekly AI credits ran out — the chat panel shows a credit-exhausted banner. Here's what each option does.

What the banner shows
When credits run out, the banner appears at the top of the chat panel with:
- The headline "Weekly AI credits exhausted"
- The next reset date (when this week's credits come back)
- A "Buy Credits" button
- A "Dismiss" button to close the banner
Your options
1 · Buy more credits
Click "Buy Credits" on the banner → opens Account → Credits (/account/credits), where you can top up your AI credit balance.
2 · Upgrade your plan
A higher plan comes with a larger weekly credit allowance. Open Account → Subscription (/account/subscription) to change plans.
Upgrades take immediate effect and the new plan's allowance applies right away.

3 · Wait for the next reset
AI credits reset every week. The banner's next reset date tells you when this week's allowance comes back:
- Click "Dismiss" to close the banner
- Try the AI action again after the reset
See why it ran out so fast
Account → Usage → "Usage stats" tab → trend chart and per-action breakdown.
Common reasons for burning through credits:
- AI Beta Reader / Editor runs are pricey (each report consumes a chunk)
- Web search adds some overhead (fetching pages costs credits)
- Deeper-thinking models cost more than faster tiers
A better habit: watch your balance
There's no per-message estimate in the chat box, so check your remaining weekly credits on the AI Usage card under Account → Credits (/account/credits) before starting a heavy run. When you queue a background task, its confirmation card also shows an approximate credit cost so you can decide before it runs.
