Whats-new modal + Version badge
Last updated June 10, 2026 · 3 min read
Want to know what Slima just shipped? Don't go hunt — the version badge and what's-new dialog nudge you.

🚧 The version badge and what's-new dialog are still in development — for now, see version history at Resources Hub / Changelog; this article will get a real in-app screenshot once the notification UI ships.
The version badge (purple pulse)
A small badge sits fixed in the bottom-right — a gray "Slima v{version}" pill with a help (?) icon beside it:
- Normal: a gray pill (always visible)
- Unread updates: the pill gains a pulsing purple halo around it
Click → opens the what's-new dialog.
The what's-new dialog
The "New release" dialog (illustrative example — not an actual release):
v3.1.4

✨ New
- AI Coach supports Web search
- Dialogue punctuation toolbar
🔧 Improvements
- Editor launches faster
- Sync stability up
🐛 Fixes
- Chat panel hang in some cases
Click "Got it" → the dialog closes and the badge's purple pulse stops (back to the plain gray pill).
See past releases
Modal bottom "All release notes" → /resources/changelog — full history.
When the nudge goes away
The purple pulse clears automatically once you open the what's-new dialog (or just click the help (?) icon on the badge) — that counts as "read," so it won't keep blinking at you. There's no separate "Version updates" on/off toggle.
Worth a glance when it pulses — you'll want to know about new features, especially breaking changes.
