Sign up and sign in to Slima
Last updated June 6, 2026 · 5 min read
No credit card to get in — sign in with Google, or start without an account (your work stays on your device for now). This page covers both paths, the in-app-browser snag, and the common questions.

Two ways into Slima
The first time you open Slima it asks you to pick an interface language, then shows a welcome screen with two choices:
| You want | Choose |
|---|---|
| Cloud sync, write across devices, use AI | Continue with Google |
| Just try it, keep data on this device only, skip AI for now | Start without account |
Neither needs a credit card. If you pick "Start without account", you can sign in with Google any time later — your local work comes with you to the cloud and AI unlocks.
Continue with Google (recommended)
Click Continue with Google on the welcome screen and authorize with your Google account. Slima only gets your email and display name — it doesn't touch your cloud drive or read your files.
Once you're in, you get:
- Cloud sync — the same account syncs in real time across web, mobile, and desktop
- AI features — the AI Coach, AI chapter analysis, and AI Beta Readers all require an account
- A free Pro trial on sign-up — no credit card (length on slima.ai/plans)
Start without account (no sign-in, data stays local)
Not ready to sign in? Click Start without account and you're writing in the Writing Studio right away.
Things to know:
- Your work lives only in this device's browser — it does not go to the cloud
- AI features are off in this mode (AI needs an account)
- Switch devices or clear your browser data, and that work is gone
- Want cloud backup + AI? Sign in with Google any time — your local work moves up with you
Good for: a quick five-minute test drive before you commit. For real long-form work, signing in is safer — that's where cloud backup comes from.
Clicking a link from inside a social app?
Open a Slima link from inside Instagram, Facebook, Threads, or LINE and Google sign-in may fail — those "in-app browsers" have incomplete support for Google sign-in.
Slima detects this and prompts you to open in your system browser. Follow that prompt (or copy the URL and paste it into Safari / Chrome yourself) and sign-in works.
Common questions
Do I have to use Google? Is there email or another login?
Sign-in is via Google account right now. If you'd rather not sign in, use "Start without account" to write locally and connect Google later.
Will the work I did with "Start without account" disappear after I sign in?
No. When you sign in with Google, your local work moves up to the cloud and starts syncing.
How do I switch Google accounts / sign out?
Account → Sign out, then sign in with the other Google account.
Want to delete your account?
Account → Danger Zone → Schedule deletion. See: Leaving Slima: export + revoke + delete.
