Insight Cards dashboard and AI Reasoning Mode by default

2 min read T Tim

Last week of 2025. Two important features go live.

Insight Cards dashboard

A visual dashboard built specifically for writers. Not a SaaS-style KPI panel — visual storytelling about your manuscript.

Four cards:

  • Soul Map — which characters appear most in your book; who has the densest relationship with whom
  • Heatmap — which time of day you’ve been writing this past month; find your “golden hour”
  • Weekly word count — not to nag you, but to surface your own rhythm
  • Slime status — the slime’s expression shifts with your recent writing frequency

Design principle: every number is wrapped in emotional framing. “1,200 words this week” gets rendered as “Your slime is sleeping well this week” — because cold numbers make blocked days harder.

Access path: Home → Insights or the Insights icon in the sidebar.

Reasoning Mode by default

Starting 12/26, every AI conversation defaults to Reasoning Mode — the model thinks in multi-step before replying.

Dimension Trade-off
Cost Each response 3–5 seconds slower, slightly higher token use
Payoff The AI stops giving “sounds right but didn’t read the context” answers

For writing, the second far outweighs the first.

You can turn it off in Settings → AI → Reasoning Mode.

Next week

Zen Mode lands — an editor mode designed to drop you into flow.
