Four features this week — all about how AI keeps you company while you write.
AI Memory — context across conversations
AI conversations used to be stateless: every new chat, the AI forgot everything from before.
For long-form writing, that’s a serious flaw — you keep re-explaining your worldbuilding, characters, prior decisions.
The new AI Memory:
- The AI remembers settings you reinforce (“the protagonist is left-handed”)
- The AI remembers edit-pass preferences (“don’t use the word unleash”)
- The AI remembers your writing style (preferred sentence length, narrative cadence)
Memory is per-book. It does not bleed across books.
You can also see what the AI has stored about your book in Settings → AI → Memory. Edit or delete any entry.
AI Coach — Coach, Not Crutch
We adjusted the default behavior of AI conversations: from ghostwriter to coach.
| Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Old | “Write me a dialogue scene” → AI writes one for you |
| New | “Write me a dialogue scene” → AI asks “what’s the tension between them?”, coaches you to write it |
Why we changed this. Letting AI ghostwrite makes writers worse over time. Letting AI coach makes writers better. We chose the latter.
If you still want pure ghostwriting, toggle Ghostwriter Mode in the chat panel (Pro+ subscriptions).
Share Links — public chapter sharing
Every chapter can now generate a public share link, for people without a Slima account.
Features:
- Read-only (readers don’t see commit history, settings, Beta Reader reports)
- Optional password protection
- Optional expiration (24h / 7d / never)
- Anti-scraping (noindex + rate limiting)
Access path: top-right Share icon on any chapter.
Useful for handing drafts to editors, friends, or community reader groups.
Entity Link — cross-file linking
Type @ in your draft to link a character / location / concept.
A linked entity:
- Shows up in the sidebar entity panel; click to jump to that entity’s setup page
- Auto-tracks “this character appears in chapters X, Y, Z”
- Renaming the entity updates every reference automatically
Linkable entity types:
- Characters
- Locations
- Organizations
- Concepts
- Key items
